A weird thing happened with PI last night!

#1

Post by UlteriorModem »

Okay I must admit it was late and I had a few adult beverages, but I was playing with an image in PI and for whatever reason I could not stretch the image or a clone!

I tried applying the auto stretch, I tried the histogram, I tried new instance, no matter what the image appearance would change but it was not actually stretched (the green line stayed on the tab).

Did I toggle something on or off?

I have been trying to reproduce this weird event in PI without any luck. All my updates are current. When I stretch to non-linear the green tab disappears in every instance and it didn't matter how I stretched the image. Have you tried again today?

LOL musta been the cocktails cause today it was working fine. Just like it always had.

Really strange!

Maybe it was telling me "Go to bed, your drunk"
was it masked ?
You can stretch a masked image, you get weird results sometimes though. Sometimes I will apply a star mask to knock down the stars and stretch like that ;)

As well as that wonderful warm fuzzy feeling after some "adult beverages" I find that for some reason my color vision is very distorted.
Green seems very predominant.
I think it is physiological stretching.
I have realised that I should do my post processing the day (or even the next, next) after.
If alcohol has to be involved, which is often the case after having set up a long session of PA and hours of exposure (during which there is not much else to do except imbibe and listen to your favorite rock tracks while waiting for crazy diamonds) that it is best just to fall asleep, wake at sunrise, check that your scope has not done a meridian flip or clashed with the tripod and the camera is still clicking away.
What else is automation for?
Scopes: 200mm f6 DOB:CR 6 150 mm f 7.5 refractor, SW ED 80 mm f 7.5. 2 X 80 mm f7.5 guides.
Mount: AVX.
NexGuide auto guider. Cameras 3 Ti and XS modded. I optron Skytracker.
Motley EP collection.

Oh, no that has never happened to me

Really I cant explain what happened with PI. I was not 'drunk' but it would not stretch an image. Even drunk I should be able to do a simple stretch :D

Meh one of those things. :violin:

Well I will be! It is doing it again!

I swear I am using the program the same as I always have but not it wont stretch images! Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.

I posted on PI forums asking about this.

Probably just some stupid oversight.

I see a re-install in my future :(
