I need help with processing videos

I have taken some DSO shots with a DSLR and planet shots with my ASI 120 MC, but I am a novice at a lot of this. When I take a shot of a planet I can stack the videos. When I take a shot of the moon however, I cannot. I do it much the same way. It may not be a problem with processing so much as capture, because I can try different stacking programs and they still will not stack. I also assume it might not be so much a problem with capture as with lack of skill, because I can use different capture programs and it doesn't help. I just can't seem to stack pictures of craters. Have any of you more experienced forum members had trouble with lunar shots in your less experienced days?
