Solar Processing... Marryiing proms & surface

Because of the difference in brightness between a prom and the surface, the two are shot as separate images and married together during processing. I thought it might be helpful to pass along the process with a PDF... See attachment.

Don't be too critical of my final image, please. I just did quick-and-dirty processing to demonstrate the techniques.:)

Very good tutorial John , thank you for taking the time to put it together .
Solar scopes (Coronado Ha) 60mm double stack , 90mm double stack , 150mm single stack .
W/L scope Williams Optic Megrez 110mm / Lunt herschel wedge .
Night scope Celestron 9.25 XLT
Mounts HEQ6 , HEQ5 , Losmandy G8

Very nice John - I don't do solar imaging (however, I am envious of your hours of operation- chuckle) but enjoyed your tutorial. Gives me a better appreciation of the work involved in producing these beautiful images.

I just couldn't resist...

The tutorial above was focused on fitting the two images together. Thus not much final processing was done after throwing the color across it. This morning, I got rid of a lot of the bad things...
