Is the Visual Back the same on C6, C8, C9.25?

#1

I currently own a C6, and I've changed the visual back and diagonal to a Baader threaded visual back and Baader 1.25" prism diagonal.

Baader T-2 90° Prism Star Diagonal Body:

Baader adapter to connect the prism body straight to SCT:
https://agenaastro.com/baader-deluxe-sh ... 08160.html

1.25" EP holder:

Highpoint Scientific has sale prices, and I'm considering moving up to a C8 or a C9.25 OTA. Will I be able to move my Baader visual back and 1.25" prism diagonal over to a C8 or C9.25, or will I have to purchase something else?

TIA!

Hi Stephen.
Yes, your t2 adapter will fit 8" and 9.25" but not larger SCTs.

Are you getting OTA or complete package?

Thanks a million, Andrey!
That’s what I thought, but I couldn’t find confirmation?

This thread caught my eye because it may contain an error, in that it can be read to mean that standard Celestron C-5,6,8,and 9.25" SCTs use a different visual back than the 11 and 14" SCTs. AFAIK the C-11 and below ship with the same 1.25" VB and use the same 2" x 24 SCT thread.

The 11" and 14" have 3.28"x 24 SCT male threads on the rear port. The 11 and perhaps the 14" come with an installed adapter ring to reduce the port to 2"x24. The 14" includes a 2" diagonal.

Thanks for the info. I would assume that if you buy a package with OTA and mount it would come with diagonal and adaptor.

I was not sure if you buy 11" or 14" OTA only it comes with adapter ring to covert from 3.28" rear port. Also, if you buy used it may or may not be included.
