Time entry
Hi, I left my LX200 for half an hour or so on auto set up. When I returned display showed 'set time'. But I'm baffled as I thought it set the time from GPS. Furthermore the format doesn't make sense. ie 22:33:86pm
Hours, minutes but what's the third pair of figures for ?

Re: Time entry
i'm boggled, usually the last is in decimal . like when i image planets and need the exact time, the last pair of digits is in a fraction 1 to 10. but 86 ??
there's only 60 seconds in a minute

Re: Time entry
I don't have a GPS system but would expect it to automatically set the correct time. But you should still be able to input a valid time manually, so clearly something else is amiss. Could you have misread the display? If the display read "22:33:86pm" as stated in your post, this makes no sense for two reasons: one, the maximum possible value for the last pair of digits should be 59, and two, there should be no "pm" as that is meaningless with 24-hour clock.
If you try to input the correct time in the format HH:MM:SS, does it work? Did you try experimenting by inputting an invalid time yourself, like the 22:33:86, to see what happens? I have seen a decimal format for fractions of seconds, e.g. HH:MM:SS.000, but the display you cite is very strange.

Re: Time entry
I'm told on another forum it's a GPS rollover issue. Need to update LX200 firmware. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_Week_Number_Rollover
