V1331 Cyg (HH 389 and many others) is an odd star with nebulosity around it. It appears to be at the end of the dark nebula DOBASHI 2860. This one is located 1,946 light-years away in Cygnus.

This area has a lot of dust, dark nebulae and HH objects. See the annotated version for more information.

Luminance – 26x600s – 260 minutes – binned 1x1

Imaged September 6th and 7th, 2021 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.

It is indeed an odd young star at about three times the mass of the Sun but rather cool. It's on its way to becoming a late B type star like many in the Pleiades. I recommend that viewers consider expanding the image so the debris of formation is visible.
