Historical Astronomy Quiz

#1

Post by Thefatkitty »

Hi all,

Last Saturday afternoon I did another one of Raymondhow's Astro Trivia Quizzes. A very good way to spend some time on a weekend morning/afternoon. Just make sure you're awake! Seriously, I've done them all since his first post on this in May 2020. I highly recommend them, but again; make sure you're awake...

Being a fan of "historical space-related events" for lack of a better term, I thought to make a quiz of my own the other day. It was actually fun for me to do, though it did take about two hours to get familiar with this part of Google Docs and make it the way I wanted.
Also, the forum has a new section called TSS Quizzes (you're here now) and I had to test it out ;)

As a side note, after I finished this, I went upstairs all proud of myself and told my wife what I had just done. Silly me. She's a teacher. The last thing she wants to see or even hear about is Google docs...

So with my tail tucked between my legs from that encounter, I present this to you. Honest opinions wanted as well; feel free to comment, and good luck! :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Excellent way to spend a weekend after noon Mark!

14/25

Better than I thought! Dates are not my best suit. I knew some and got lucky with my guesses!

Good quiz. Cheers. I might have a go at one myself.

Regards

Graeme

A fun quiz to start the day, I missed one question.
Confused two names with the same number. :)
Telescopes: 1 more than I need but 2 less than I want
Mounts: 5 Equatorial, 3 Az/ Alt
Diagonal: 3 mirror, 2 Amici, 1 Herschel
Eyepieces: Possibly more than 1 person requires
