Hi all - I apologize for the lateness of this list, as well as for missing December - things got out of hand, and time has been moving way to fast for my liking lately!

Anyway, here are 4 targets for this month, good luck and "keep looking up!"

X CNC: 5.52 - 7.5

X Cancri is a 6th magnitude Variable Star appearing in the constellation Cancer. It is 1117 light years from our solar system. It is a red star of spectral type C5,4. Its energy output is 332 times the Sun's luminosity.

X Cancri is a pulsating semi-regular variable star of type SRB. Its magnitude varies from +5.5 to +7.5, over a period of 193.0 days.

BM GEM: 11.5 - 12.1

BM Geminorum is a 8th magnitude Variable Star appearing in the constellation Gemini. It is 2589 light years from our solar system. It is a red star of spectral type N0v. Its energy output is 235 times the Sun's luminosity.

BM Geminorum is a pulsating semi-regular variable star of type SRB. Its magnitude varies from +11.5 to +12.1, over a period of 286.0 days.

R Canis Minoris is a 7th magnitude Variable Star appearing in the constellation Canis Minor. It is 2398 light years from our solar system. It is a red star of spectral type C7,1Je. Its energy output is 341 times the Sun's luminosity.

R Canis Minoris is a pulsating Mira-type variable star of type M. Its magnitude varies from +7.0 to +12.0, over a period of 340.0 days.

GY MON: 9.39 - 11.6


GY Monocerotis is a 8th magnitude Variable Star appearing in the constellation Monoceros. It is 1517 light years from our solar system. It is a red star of spectral type C6,3. Its energy output is 105 times the Sun's luminosity.

GY Monocerotis is a pulsating long-period variable star of type LB. Its magnitude varies from +9.4 to +11.6, with an irregular or unknown period.

Thank you for your fine targets this month Brett. I know what you mean about things getting away from you and having to push some things to the back of the queue!

I am going to try to find the Canis Minor one this eve. (Assuming it will be clear!!!) Thanks for posting these targets Brett. (Haven't been out in awhile). I'll be using the 6" achro which I have already hauled out to the back deck.

Been way too cold and/or cloudy here for a while now.

The weather here this winter has been ridiculous, I would love to be observing but I do not want to be chasing my telescope through the streets right now
