Hi all this is my attempt at Jacks m45,I used my Serif affinity and stacked in Affinity.I used prodigital software to take out light pollution on the image. Then I adjusted the blue level quite aggressively and then used astrophotography background to increase the black.
Thanks
Andy
Thats nice Andy, The background is a bit to black for my taste and I think that in taking it so dark you have lost some of the finer nebulosity thats there.
Thanks for giving it a go, I hope you enjoyed the exercise!

David.

Hi David thanks for the reply,I did try not to leave it so black but it looked a bit too blue and grainy,so I had to compromise.I like these challenges gives me more experience in processing,it's nice to see the different processess from this experienced group of people on the forum.
Thanks

I had some 'extra' time today and gave it a try.
Here's the shortened version of the steps used in StarTools.

Hi Gordon - That is a beautiful job of processing. I'm blown away by all the dust you were able to bring out. Really nice job.

I took a crack at this tonight with
StarTools. Pretty much used what has become my standard flow - AutoDev, Bin to 25%, Crop (edges only), Wipe, HDR, Sharpen, Deconvolution, Color, Super Structure. I didn't do any noise reduction. Final touch I did a rough cleanup of the lower right "extended" dust bunny. It was fun data to work with. Thanks for sharing it, David.

Thats come out well @bobharmony Bob. Your star colours are really good. The chain of six larger stars top left of the main nebulosity show their colour variation really well. And you have kept the "sisters" under control too. I like it!
