Not sure if this has been posted here already, but just found out over on CN that Ken Fulton, the author of 'The light hearted astronomer' passed away in early August. I bought his book back in early 1985 and have a re read every few years for nostalgia. If you haven't read it, it's worth a look at, a very enjoyable read. It's a bit dated, but a lot of the content is still relevant. His observations on the types of amateur astronomers out there is spot on and there are quite a few passages in the book that will make you laugh. Sad to hear. RIP Ken.

I'm currently reading his 2019 reprint, "The Light-Hearted Astronomer Observes Again". The interview in the front portion is intended to be an update to the original. Addresses some interesting issues.
