"Using the Starblast 6 to Seek our new DSO's"

Urban astronomy is definitely a challenge outside of the moon, planets, and the brightest objects. Yet if one takes a systematic approach to what can be seen through specific instruments it's possible to locate new, even faint DSO's. In this case terrynak (Terry) used his Starblast 6 to identify some new clusters in Cygnus. He also offers some good advice for those observing from the city - focal length and magnification matter. Longer focal length scopes have a smaller field of view which tends to darken the sky background. Similarly ramping up magnification to a moderate level also darkens the background and makes fainter stars stand out. Thanks for the excellent report Terry and congrats on winning the VROD on this Labor Day!
