9-17-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

"Observing Report for 15 September 2023 - back at it in a small way"

Today we feature a delightful report by KT4HX (Alan) using an ED 80 scope on a Twilight I mount. Gathering up a collection of 5 eyepieces he headed outside for an evening under the stars.

Beginning with Jupiter and then Saturn he enjoyed the views of these two gas giants and their more prominent satellites, as well as bands of Jupiter and Cassini's Division in the rings of Saturn. Always a great way to start or end a session. From there he observed late summer and early fall showpieces includings the Double Cluster, M15, NGC 457, the Andromeda Galaxy, M33 in Traingulum, noting the presence of NGC 604 the HII region(!) in his small scope before ending up with M57.

A great evening even under Bortle 6 skies at home, congratulations Alan on achieving the VROD award for the day!
