"Using the old Tasco 50mm frac for Deep Sky observing"

How small of an aperture can one use to see DSO's? In this case terrynak (Terry) brings out his old Tasco refractor to observe some objects including M57 and M92 as well as M39 in Cygnus. Purchased in 1981 for a shade over $100 (the equivalent of over $400 in today's money) the little scope did well. Nowadays for $400 once can purchase a scope very easily which will far exceed the capacity of what was available back in 1981. Congratulations Terry on winning the VROD for the day!
