"Sh2-27, LBN, and MBM nebulae in Ophiucus, Serpens Caput, Libra, and Scorpius"

Today's featured report is from j.gardavsky (JG) who updates us with his more recent observations of nebulosity associated with the constellations Ophiuchus, Serpens Caput, Libra, and Scorpius. The Sh2-27 nebula, associated with the star Zeta Ophiuchi is a prime example of a faint extended nebula which he has glimpsed in his 10.5 by 70 binoculars. Others viewed and sketched include the LBN and MBM nebula complexes. Filters can be very helpful in discerning the nebulosity, which JG used including his H-Beta filter, Blue (RGB)CCD filters which reveal several filaments and brightened areas from the Lynds’ catalog. To top it off JG has sketched his observations, which is most helpful in assisting others to replicate what he has been able to view. Congratulations JG on your observations and excellent report!
