8-16-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

"Clouds, Perseids, and Saturn, a short report"

On a recent evening John Baars and his youngest son were able to secure a place at an observatory in town in order to watch the Perseids. Clouds prevailed until nearly 1am when the skies cleared. They both watched and took a few photos of the radiant point area, catching a few streaks of light near Lyra.

John had brought along a 100mm grab and go scope with which they viewed M57, M27, and the Double Cluster, the latter sight amazed his son. They ended the evening with some pristine views of Saturn. Congratulations John on winning the VROD for the Day for your Perseid adventure!
