7-26-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

"An evening in Sagittarius"

Today's featured report represents a romp in the constellation Sagittarius by bigzmey (Andrey). On this occasion at Anza he was able to utilize two scopes - a Celestron 150 Achro and the 9.25" Edge SCT he owns.

Offering a wide variety of targets except for galaxies (with the exception of Barnard's Galaxy), the prey in Sagittarius consists of OC's, globulars, double stars, and nebulae. Noteworthy was a stunning view of M8 through the 150 Achro.

Putting his 9.25" scope to work he was able to view the dim (13th magnitude) and obscure globular cluster Arp 2 in a fine example of observing skill. He also worked on a variety of NGC Clusters, some of which he observed, others were too faint. All in all an excellent night out with many challenge objects. Congratulations Andrey on winning the VROD for today!
