7-19-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

With a modicum of effort and good skies, especially in the right direction, Scribbly (Phil) was able to track down a plethora of globular clusters in Sagittarius and Ophiuchus, two of the constellations where we are looking towards the galactic core. Surrounding the core in a halo are the globular clusters, generally bright stars of low metallicity in close proximity to each other.

However, they are far away from our arm of the Milky Way and most of them but the closer examples represent an observational challenge. Phil however was able to observe a large quantity with his 7" reflector, a highly successful evening. Congratulations Phil on your session and on achieving a nice haul of the challenge objects laid out by KT4HX (Alan) winning the VROD for the day as nominated by your peers on TSS!
