"Doubles Eye Candy in Bortle 8 Skies"

One of the great observing targets when confronted with light pollution are double stars. Often there are beautiful contrasting colors which are especially notable when the stars are at close separation. In this case, The Wave Catcher (Steve) managed to get out on a hot night with his AT102ED scope and catch many of the showpieces such as Epsilon Bootis, several others in this constellation and also Serpens. He also managed a view of M5 the globular cluster. Braving both the heat and light pollution is a definite accompishment, as well as recounting the names of many of the stars he observed. Congratulations Steve on winning the VROD for the day.
