"Ursa Major, Bootes, and the comet"

Once again probing the skies from the Anza Desert bigzmey (Andrey) enjoyed a superb session of galaxy hunting, for the moment eschewing the wonders of the southern Milky Way that dominate the night sky in summer. Exploring first in Ursa Major and then in Bootes with his 9.25" Celestron Edge, many galaxies fell to his glass. Follow along with his excellent descriptions as a guide. Topping off the evening was a view of comet Panstarrs which is approaching the inner solar system and is due to brighten in the coming months, becoming a target even in small scopes and binoculars. With an array of cacti to photograph while he waited for darkness to arrive, it was truly a splending evening. Congratulations Andrey on winning the VROD for the day.
