6-26-2022 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

"Observing Report for 23 June 2022 - galaxies galore (Part 1)"

Today's featured report concerns Libra and Bootes and the galactic wonders ocurring within those constellations. Libra, one of the faintest constellations visually and therefore requiring dark skies to identify naked eye, is full of faint dim fuzzies that warrant medium and larger size amateur scopes.

Bootes - a constellation sometimes passed over by Messier observers since it contains none of the objects he identified and mainly the bright Spring and early Summer star Arcturus, an orange beacon - actually is home to galaxies visible in medium to large size scopes and a globular cluster visible in small to medium aperture instruments. KT4HX (Alan) observed a wide array of galaxies in both Libra and Bootes and receives the VROD for both high quality observations and succinct descriptions of what he saw at the eyepiece. Congrats Alan on the award and also hope it will inspire others to plumb the depths of these sometimes neglected constellations to find hidden riches!
