6-19-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

by helicon

"Two Friends and Two Scopes - side by side"

Our featured report this day is courtesy of Scribbly (Phil) who was able to get out with a friend and compare views between a reflector and refractor, the latter being a TSA 120 and a new acquisition, the other scope being a Dall/Kirkham reflector. Putting the scopes through the paces it is very interesting to read the comparison between the scopes on the same objects, sometimes the reflector provides more detail due to larger aperture, and has a bit more light grasp, but as Phil notes, sometimes the refractor offers sharper views and also more color in the image.

The list of objects observed is indeed impressive and includes showpieces of the southern skies as well as northerly objects only visible near the horizon. Congrats Scribbly on the excellent report and on winning the VROD for today!
