"Anza galaxy hunt with supernova and the planet parade"

Observing an object that appears as it looked 63 million years ago is always amazing. In the case of a super luminous supernova it is almost unimaginable. Here, a very rare object in the fabric of space once shone brightly across the heavens, yet this was a time before mammals and flowering plants had come to ascendance on Earth. A long forgotten celestial event is preserved in time, like in amber, for us to enjoy today.

In Bigzmey's (Andrey) report we can experience this vicariously as he was able to see the supernova in NGC 4647 with his Edge 9.25" scope from the dark skies of the Anza desert. Follow along as he continues observations of galaxies also in Virgo, plus the additional constellations of Cancer and Leo. A parade of planets before sunrise also was observed (and photographed). Congratulations Andrey on winning the VROD for the day!
