"Morning Galaxies at the Desert"

Coma Berenices is an interesting sort of asterism constellation. Berenices refers to the wife of King Ptolemy III Eurgetes, the Macedonian dynasty ruler of Egypt. Supposedly Berenices sacrificed to the gods by cutting her long hair and making a votive offering to appease them. While a faint grouping, it is visible under dark skies and is a well-known haven for galactic observers. It was codified in the list of constellations by Tycho Brahe. In this report, bigzmey plumbs the depths of this galactic wonderland while also crossing over into Bootes to observe galaxies in that constellation with his Celestron Edge 9.25" scope. Follow along as Andrey describes what he viewed. Also during the session Andrey observed his 2,500th DSO which is certainly a fabulous milestone. Congratulations Andrey on winning the VROD for the day!
