"Christmas Eve Planets and Asteroids"

For some reason it seems hard to get out on Christmas eve and do any observing. On the one hand it can be cold, snowy, or rainy. On the other there are many things to do like wrapping presents, keeping the kids from opening presents before Chrstmas morning, getting them to bed and preparing meals, and so on. Bigzmey (Andrey) had a break from this routine for the first time in 24 years and managed a session focused on Jupiter, Mars, and a group of asteroids.Interestingly the best views were had with his 102 mm refractor over his C8 when it came to the planets, whilst the C8 was better for pursuing the asteroids he tracked down. All in all a nice session on a day when most of us are usually shut out. Congratulations on winning the VROD for the day Andrey!
