"Nebulosity in M45, visual"

One of the Holy Grails in astronomy is trying to observe the nebulosity around Merope, Alcyone, and Electra in the Pleiades. Many have tried and many have failed, as the reflection nebula is very difficult to see visually. One who has found that Grail is John Baars. Follow along as he describes catching the elusive wisps of gas using a blue filter on his refractor. Furthermore, he has produced a great sketch of the object with an ingenius technique, rivaling photos of the Pleiades. Congratulations John on a fabuolus report!
