"The Ursids!"

Today we feature an excellent meteor observing session by unitron48 (Dave) who managed to take in a preview of the Ursid meteor shower (radiant in Ursa Major). While it peaks on the 22nd and 23rd of December he saw 10 meteors last night, which as you probably know, marked the coming of the winter Solstice. This particular shower has its origin in debris from Comet Tuttle which wheels into the inner solar system and gets as close as 1.03 astronomical units from the sun. Congratulations Dave on your naked eye meteor session and on winning the VROD for the Day!
