"Comet Leonard plus extras..."

Today we feature an excellent observing report on comet Leonard by DeanD (Dean). As many know right now it is an evening object visible just after sunset. Dean gave it a try and was able to see the comet both naked eye and with binoculars, estimating it at about 4th magnitude. He decribes the appearance as a bright head and a visible tail, giving it the typical comet appearance that one sees in photographs. Other objects he observed included the thin crescent of Venus and the Trapezium in the Orion Nebula. Overall a nice 30 minute session and well worthy of the TSS VROD for the day. Congratulations to Dean!
