12-14-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

by helicon

"First Winter Session"

Today's highlighted report comes courtesy of Bigzmey (Andrey) who was able to head out to the backyard using his Mak to catch some great views of Jupiter, Saturn, asteroids, and double stars. He made an early observation of Jupiter, noting the appearance of a great storm in the equatorial belts. Also, he returned to Jupiter later in the session for a second view at much higher power as the seeing had improved over the duration of the session.

Targeting mostly Cepheus doubles, he hauled in a great number of them. He also noted that when he had moved into his home a couple of years ago conditions were Bortle 5.5 but now are at Bortle 7, which to many of us experiencing light pollution creep is par for the course.

He rounded out the session with some new asteroid observations. Congratulations on a great report Andrey and on winning the VROD for the day!
