11-30-2022 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

"Last Night's Participants"

The moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars occupied the Nakedgun's observing evening. With everything set up at 1800 hours he enjoyed a night of viewing along with his neighbor, who popped in twice for views including through NG's binoviewer - a sight the neighbor had never seen before. While not perfect seeing, the moon did show well and the planets reasonably well at useful magnifications up to 261 x. Specifically noted by NG was the fact that the GSR is becoming almost difficult to spot and as he remarked he wonders if it will become undetectable in the course of his lifetime. The views of Mars were especially satisfying through his 9.25" Celestron SCT and probably the best since the 2003 opposition when he had used his C-14. All in all a great night and even better, shared with a neighbor. Congratulations NG on a fine report and on winning the TSS VROD for the day.
