11-26-2021 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

by helicon

"Monday, Monday"

Today we feature a report dating back to approximately this time last year. As the weather turns colder Taurus rises and we can get glimpses of that wonderful jewelbox the Pleiades. Team member The Fat Kitty (Mark) had a wonderful session observing the cluster and even snapping a photo. The good thing about the Pleiades is that you don't need a lot of aperture to enjoy the cluster, in fact the view is probably better through a small scope where you can frame the entire object within the field of view. In contrast through a 10" scope you just see a smattering of bright stars, some fainter ones, but don't get a sense of the cluster's unique shape. Hopefully more folks will take a look at this classic after reading Mark's report. Congratulations Mark on winning the TSS VROD for the day!
