10-24-2023 TSS Visual Report of the Day.

by helicon

"Observing Report for 19 October 2023 - a relaxing pre-dawn look around"

Today's featured report courtesy once more of KT4HX involves an early morning session in Orion and nearby constellations including Canis Major, Gemini, and Cancer using a Zhumell Z10, Alan's smaller Dobsonian. Among the showpieces such as the Orion Nebula and various reflection nebulae he also managed a peek at M35/NGC 2158 - essentially two clusters for the price of one. All in all it was a very successful morning session that kicked off with Venus in Leo and ended with Messier 67 in Cancer. By that time it was 06:30 in the morning and getting toward astronomical dawn. Congratulations Alan on a successful session out under the stars and, as you mention, the visible Winter Milky Way, and as nominated, you take away another VROD award!
